Trade Log — SPY ORB Patience Trade

Image
Date: Feb 4, 2026 Instrument: SPY Contract: 684 Put (0DTE) Strategy: Opening Range Breakout (ORB) + Retest Failure Account Type: Small account / capital preservation focus 🧠 Trade Thesis The market opened in a choppy range with multiple failed attempts to hold above the ORB high. Early price action showed indecision, compressed VWAP and EMAs, and weak follow-through. Instead of forcing a trade, I stayed patient and waited for confirmation. After several failed retests and acceptance back into the range, bearish structure reappeared. This aligned with my original ORB bias, giving me a high-confidence short setup. 🎯 Entry Details Entry Time: 9:53 AM EST Position: Buy SPY 684 Put Reason for Entry: Failed hold above ORB Rejection near resistance Momentum shifted back to sellers Clean structure confirmation (no chasing) 🛑 Exit Plan & Execution Exit Strategy: Trailing stop with close follow-up As price moved in my favor, I trailed the stop to protect gains. When the trend revers...

Trading Log Day 6

Day 6 Trading Log – Small Account Journey Date: January 29, 2026 Starting Capital: $100 Current Balance: $166 Trading Days: 6 Green Days: 5 Red Days: 1 (max loss: -$15) I started trading six days ago with a $100 account. So far, the progress has been steady. My focus is simple: protect capital, trade only A+ setups, and aim to close each day green. I am not rushing for big money. This is a process. Let’s be honest—small accounts are fragile. One mistake can wipe everything out. I know that. Let’s see how long I can survive without blowing it up. Trade Details Ticker: SPY Strategy: ORB Retest Direction: Put Entry Time: 8:36 AM Exit Time: 8:39 AM PnL: +$29 This was a clean A+ setup. Price rejected the opening range and gave a proper retest. The entry was solid, and the trade immediately went in my favor. However, I exited too early. Fear of giving back profits kicked in. With better patience and confidence, this trade had the potential to run much further. Lesson Learned The setup ...

Blown Account – Lessons Learned

Yesterday, I blew up my $300 account. But this time, I know exactly where I went wrong: 1. Ignored my stop loss. 2. Moved stops lower, taking bigger losses. 3. Overtraded—turned green days into red. 4. Held losers too long. 5. Cut winners too fast. 6. Didn’t follow my predefined plan. 7. Got emotional, hoping trades would come back. 8. Forced trades without clear A+ setups. 9. Tried swing trades against the trend. 10. Took revenge trades after losses. 11. Had an 80% win-rate setup but failed to execute. 12. Chased 0DTE SPY/SPX instead of sticking with TSLA. 13. Kept switching strategies (ICT, breakout/retest, ORB) instead of mastering one. 14. Misread FOMC news. 15. Let FOMO drag me down. After a 7-day break, I’ll restart with $500 on September 1, 2025—this time with discipline.
